For a fifty - year period of its activity our higher educational institution has trained above 25000 managers and professionals of high qualification having considerably contributed the development of civil aviation.
Nowadays the University possesses the highest scientific potential for all years of its existence. Among its staff there are 50 Ph. Ds., professors, Candidates of science, assistant professors. The number of students exceeds 7000 people. The number of students from foreign countries has increased lately. At present more than 600 students from CIS and other countries study at the University.
By its 50-th anniversary the Academy has gained in strength and quality having received the status: 'Saint-Petersburgh State University of civil aviation' which is worthy its age and merits.
The University has overcome a difficult situation which has existed in the country at large, in the aviation industry and higher vocational education. The University staff confidently faces the future. Our aim in the educational sphere is to keep the main role and to become the leading institution of Russia. And it means that one should be a guarantor of the University graduates quality. We are sure it will be so, that our graduates will always be demanded and desired by all enterprises of air transport in Russia.
